One idea prevented 248,000 lbs of waste & saved our client millions & counting!

This BIG idea was birthed in 2012 in the BOH (back of house) at a busy cafe in suburban New Jersey.

Titanium (by David Guetta & Sia) was slightly audible.

The aroma of fresh coffee filled the air as our team measured for a minor renovation.

Ryan noticed something peculiar. There were two Bunn coffee servers (a.k.a. urns) sitting on the floor next to the service exit.

Inquisitively he asked, “what’s that about?” as he noticed similar collections at other stores.

“They’re broke & I’m not sure if I should throw them out?” responded the Store Manager.

As fate had it, Ryan knew exactly what to do.

As a boy his father would repair kitchen equipment in the family garage.

Years later this side hustle evolved into a large scale refurbishment operation for P&G.

Ryan grew up in a world of turning peoples trash into savings & sustainable business practices long before it was trendy.

After talking with the Facilities Manager, ARS got permission to take the broken urns, replace all possible parts, fix them good as new and resell them at a huge discount.

This process carried on for 15 years and ARS has refurbished over 22,000 urns! Giving them a second life of service & keeping them out of mother earths belly.

Innovation requires a unique perspective. Seeing what others don’t and taking decisive action.

We all have our areas of genius.

This was Ryan’s and it’s paid off big time.
